The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Risk Management and Insurance in the Robinson College of Business jointly offer two dual degree programs: the Dual BS-Mathematics/Master of Actuarial Science (MAS) program and the Dual BS-Mathematics/MS Mathematical Risk Management (MRM) program.
These programs are designed to be completed in five years and the student will graduate with two degrees upon completion. In general, at the end of the fourth year, a student will receive a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with concentration in either Actuarial Science or Mathematical Risk Management; at the end of the fifth year, the student will receive a Master of Actuarial Science or a Master of Science in Risk Management and Insurance with a Mathematical Risk Management emphasis. The undergraduate portion meets the requirements of a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics even if a student does not proceed with the graduate part of the program.
This five-year program is jointly offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Risk Management and Insurance in the Robinson College of Business.
This powerful degree combination will give students a competitive edge in the field of risk.
