Minor in Actuarial Science

The minor in Actuarial Science is especially targeted to students majoring in undergraduate degrees in Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science who have an interest in applying quantitative methods within the risk management and insurance fields as well as other financial disciplines.

Requirements for the Minor

Students who wish to minor in actuarial science must take at least 15 credit-hours of courses including the following:

  • AS 4140 Mathematical Foundations of Actuarial Science
  • AS 4230 Theory of Interest
  • AS 4340 Life Contingencies
  • RMI 3750 Risk Modeling
One course from the following:
